ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
- The English language requirements for our courses are provided on individual course pages as minimum IELTS scores, however we accept many other tests and qualifications.

Undergraduate Entry Requirements
- Students from the Ivory Coast with a Baccalauréat or a Diplôme de Bachelier de l'Enseignement du Second Degré can be considered for a four-year course with foundation programme in their field of interest. Upon successful completion of the Foundation Year, students will automatically progress on to our three-year degree. Our four-year foundation programmes offer a joint confirmation of acceptance for studies (CAS) for all four years of study.
- Alternatively, applicants can opt for a Foundation course at our partner provider OnCampus London (or another recognised provider) for entry onto undergraduate programmes at Birkbeck.
- Applicants can be considered for direct entry onto our undergraduate programmes with a:
- Certificat d'Aptitude Pédagogique pour les Collèges d'Enseignement Général
- Diplôme d'Etudes Economiques Générales (DEEG)
- Diplôme d'Etudes Juridiques Générales (DEJG)
- Diplôme d'Etudes Universitaires Générales (DEUG)
- Diplôme Universitaire d'Etudes Littéraires (DUEL)
- Diplôme Universitaire d'Etudes Scientifiques (DUES)
- Applicants with a Diplôme Universitaire de technologie (DUT) and Brevet de Technicien Supérieur (BTS) in relevant subject can also be considered for entry into our undergraduate programmes
- Applicants with a French Baccalaureat (with minimum grades from 12/20) or with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or A-levels will be considered for direct admission to our undergraduate degree programmes. IB requirements range from 28 to 33, depending on the course.

Postgraduate Entry Requirements
- To be considered for entry onto a Master’s degree at Birkbeck, a student from the Ivory Coast must have completed a Maitrise, Diplome d'Etude Approfondies, Diplome d'Etude Superieures or Diplome d'Etude Superieures Specialisees from a recognised university (14-15 out of 20 or Bien from a well ranked institution is considered comparable to a UK 2:1, while a score of 12-13 out of 20 or Assez Bien is considered comparable to a UK 2:2).
- If you do not meet these criteria, you can apply for OnCampus London's Master's Foundation Programme which is available for two- or three-term progression onto a wide range of Master's degrees at Birkbeck. Foundation programmes from other providers will also be considered.
- Please note that all applications are considered on an individual basis and students may be admitted to Master's programmes with a lower-level degree if they have work experience relevant to the degree applied for.

Research degrees Entry Requirements
- The usual entrance requirement for a research degree is a Master’s degree.
- Applicants are strongly urged to contact potential supervisors within the department before submitting a research application.
